ABOUT MUNICIPALITY

Thanthoni town panchayat is suitated at south east of Karur town about the distant of 5 K.M it is upgraded as Third Grade Municipality from 14.06.2004. It has a population of 31592 (as per 2001 census) with the extent of 13.5 Sq. Km. The town is divided into 18 wards.

The Municipal Council comprising of 18 ward councilors is headed by Chairperson, who is elected by councilors of the town. The councilors elect a Vice-Chairperson among them. More ...
