About us
Nagapattinam Municipality was constituted on 24.10.1866. Upgraded as Second Grade Municipality on 24.10.1986.Upgraded to Selection Grade Municipality with effect from 22.05.1998It has the limit over the whole town of Nagapattinam and Nagore. From 19.10.1991. Nagapattinam is a Head Quarters of Nagapattinam District. The population of the town was 93148 as per 2001 census.
