            E-GOVERNANCE  Of   KARUR  MUNICIPALITY  offers  online Citizen  services.  People can easily access from  in any where regarding  the information  about  Birth  and Death, Property Tax, Water Charges, Profession Tax, D & O Trade License and Building Plan Approvals.  People can remit their taxes in  ICICI Bank, IOB Bank, Citizen Counters and Facilitation Counter  which are nearer to their residence. 

            It is an Advanced Technology in Communication and Information, the database server of this  Municipality is connected with Facilitation Counter by means of Local Area Network.  The Wide Area Network and Dynamic Website is to  connected to be very soon. 

            A New Facilitation Counter  at the cost of Rs.2 Lakhs has  been installed in the premises of the Karur Municipality to facilitate remittance of Tax.  One  Server and 7 nodes have been erected . The Local Area Network set up functions effectively in the chambers of  Commissioner  and  Municipal  Engineer. 

            The  required Software  Modules  were  installed on  February  2004  and  the  required  data  have  been fed  and  brought  upto  date. 

            The  Bill  Collectors  and  Junior  Assistants are trained to issue Computerized  receipts for the taxes they receive in the  Service  Counters. 

            The  Details of Birth and Death are  updated in Karur  Municipality.  Sanitary  Inspectors are  also trained to issue Computerized Birth and Death Certificates because of the training imparted to them.
