Village panchayat was constituted
in Chinnamanur with effect from 1885, Then upgraded to Town
Panchayat from 1947. The erst while Town Panchayat was upgraded
as III grade Municipality with effect from 1.4.77 Vide G.O.NO.218of
RD &LA Department RD&LA dated 8.2.77 and again upgarded
as II Grade Municipality with effect from 29.3.84 vide G.O.No.
